No disrespect to Spencer, but I sort of feel like the difference between Dan and Spencer is like the difference between “Born to Run” and Nebraska. Yes, the latter is more complex, carries immense weight, and very well could be the finest sequence of songs ever… but nothing gets me pumped like Dancer in the Dark. And that’s the feeling I get from this song.

I’m one of those people in the tiny minority who much MUCH prefer Dan’s work to Spencer’s. There’s a lot less being odd for odd’s sake. This is the first (official) taste from the forthcoming Handsome Furs record, Face Control.
