There goes the neighbourhood pt 436152.
Got a panicked call at 2:30 from a friend who lives at Main and B’way who was traumatized by the Slickety Jim’s fire back in November. That one slowly crept toward their apartment building, but luckily, it didn’t burn.
Anyways: The smell of smoke woke her up and the fire was a block and a half away this time.
“Not this shit again. Why is our neighborhood burning down?”
First thoughts:
Serial arson, opportunistic real estate/insurance move, you can pay a guy a grand or so to do it, were there development deals being hammered out before it happened?
Or faulty Christmas lights.
HOLY SHIT! This is crazy! If anything happens to the Our Town/Budgies/Pulp Fiction/Gene block I think I’m going to lose my mind.
Drove by here about an hour ago. Everything East of the pizza place to the end of the block is totally destroyed. I guess this settles whether or not I’m going to start jiu-jitsu once a week at Gracie Barra.
